On Tilt Description – Losing Your Emotional Cool at the Tables

When a gambler is on tilt, they are upset or frustrated to such a significant extent that they are making poor tactical choices and needlessly losing money.

Players often go on tilt after a poker bad beat or a series of poor hands. After this, they typically start betting more aggressively in an effort to recoup their losses.

For example, you’ve lost several big hands in a row and start feeling the urge to start betting a more significant amount of money.

In this scenario, it’s almost always caused by your emotional tilting, and it’s best just to end your session and take a break.
