Slow Rolling Description – A Practice Frowned Upon by Poker Players

Slow rolling happens in poker games when one player purposely takes a long time to call their opponents all-in bet while knowing that they have the best hand.

In other words, a slow-rolling player intentionally antagonizes the opponent even though they’re confident in the result. Because of this, slow rolling is considered poor poker etiquette.

For instance, there are only two players left in the pot, and the community board reads A, A, 7, 6, 5. The first player, who has an 8, 9 pushes for all-in, thinking that they have the strongest hand.

The other player, holding an A, A hand, takes an extraordinarily long amount of time to make the call, although they know they have the winner. This action is called slow rolling.
