Hold Meaning – The Amount of Money the Casino Gets to Keep from All Bets
The hold is the amount of money the casino actually keeps. The hold is different from the handle, as the handle keeps track of how much money is wagered during a specific period.
So, for example, let’s say that four blackjack players are playing in the casino. Two players lose $100, while the two other players win $100. The casino’s total handle is $400, while the hold is $200.
