Marker Meaning – A Line of Credit Extended to a Player by the Casinos
The gambling term marker can have several meanings. For most casino players, the first association with this term is that it’s a small object or device that indicates the dealer’s position.
Additionally, marker also means a line of credit the casino sometimes gives to its regulars and high rollers.
In this sense, the marker enables the player to bet even if they’re out of money at the moment but can repay any potential losses in the future.
For example, if a player often places big bets and plates frequently at the casino, the house might allow him a marker up to a certain amount, with a set timeframe by when they have to repay the money back.
