Pit Boss

The pit boss is a casino employee who oversees all of the action in a specific area, like craps tables or blackjack tables.

Modern pit bosses have a long list of responsibilities to account for. The most significant ones include managing tables, ensuring that the dealers don’t make mistakes, and keeping players in check to prevent any gambling or alcohol-related incidents.

For example, if you encounter a problem with the dealer while playing in a casino, the pit boss will often step in to resolve the dispute, as they are the highest authority in the area.

Only if the pit boss doesn’t manage to resolve your dispute will it be escalated to the manager.
