Overcards Meaning – Cards Ranking Higher Than Any Cards on the Board
The term “overcard” can refer to two very different things. Firstly, it can represent the community card of a higher rank than what the player holds. Secondly, it can refer to a hole card higher than any other card on the board.
For example, if you hold an A, K hand and the flop produces a 6, 9, and Q, you have not one but two overcards. This puts you in a solid position, though you’re still very vulnerable, as even the lowest pair beats you in this situation.
