Fish Meaning – A Nickname for an Inexperienced Poker Player

Fish is another popular term often used at the poker table. It describes poker players who bet on every hand and tend to lose much more than they win.

Additionally, it also refers to inexperienced players, which the more experienced players (sharks) take advantage of.

You’ll often hear this term in a conversation between poker players. For example, someone will say, “I was in such a great game last night. There was a huge fish at the table, and he kept giving away his money left and right.”
