Ace-High Meaning – A Poker Hand With No Pair & Ace as the Top Card
An Ace-high hand is a term mostly used in poker. It references a hand in which the highest-ranking card is an ace, but it doesn’t make a pair or any other helpful combination.
For example, if you’re playing a poker game in which you have two hole cards, like Texas Hold’em, an ace-high hand could be a hand containing an A, J or an A, 10 when the board reads K, Q, 8, 7, 3.
So, since the player doesn’t have any combination, their A, K, Q, J, 8 hand is referenced to as ace-high.
