Broadway Meaning – A Common Term for the Highest Possible Straight in Poker
Broadway is a common poker slang term referring to an Ace-high straight. A Broadway is the best possible poker straight, but not necessarily the best hand possible, as a handful of other stronger card combinations can still beat this hand.
For example, you’re holding a J, Q hand as the community board brings up an A, K, 10, 8, 7. This gives you an Ace-high straight and a justifiable opportunity to say “Broadway” as you flip over your hand during the showdown.
