D’Alembert System Meaning – A Popular Betting System Used by Roulette Players

The D’Alembert System is one of the most popular casino gambling strategies. It was invented by Jean Le Rond D’Alembert over two centuries ago.

This betting system doesn’t help players win more but instead focuses on helping them get the most value from their bankroll and, therefore, the best possible success in the long run.

Here’s an example of how the D’Alembert System works. Let’s say that you have a bankroll of $100. As it’s recommended to only bet around 2% of your total bankroll, you’ll place an initial stake of $2.

If you lose the bet, you should increase it by one more unit, in this case, $2, making your next bet worth $4. If you lose the bet, you increase the bet to $6. If you lose again, increase it to $8, etc.

Once you win, you revert one stake. So, if you win a bet with an $8 wager, you revert to $6. This is the entire premise of the D’Alembert betting strategy.
