Pigeon Meaning – A Derogatory Term for an Inexperienced Gambler

This is one of the gambling terms you should avoid using and remember if you hear someone call you this.

Casino players use this word in a derogatory meaning to refer to a player who is naive, unskilled, or downright ignorant. Needless to say, no casino player would like to be called this.

For example, you could hear an experienced blackjack card counter say something like: “The count was really bad, so I was betting small and waiting for my chance, but this pigeon sitting next to me kept making huge bets and losing.”
