Splash the Pot Description – A Practice Frowned Upon by Everyone
Splashing the pot is the action of carelessly shoving the chips towards the pot instead of placing them neatly near the middle of the table.
A particularly over-the-top example of splashing the pot is when players throw chips in a way that they scatter everywhere.
This is generally considered very poor poker etiquette, and you should always avoid splashing the pot when playing in a casino.
For instance, you’ll most likely hear it used in a negative connotation, as the dealer could say: “Please don’t splash the pot” to a reckless player throwing their chips around.
