Straight Meaning – A Poker Hand Containing Five Cards in a Sequence
A straight is a casino term referring to any card combination that includes five consecutive cards.
The cards don’t need to be of the same suit. The most popular game you’ll hear this term used in is poker.
For example, you’re playing a community card poker variation like Texas Hold’em and have a 10, J hand.
After the river, the community board reads A, K, Q, Q, 5. In this case, you have a 10, J, Q, K, A straight, which is the strongest straight in the game.
