House Rules Meaning – A Specific Set of Rules Used at a Particular Gambling Venue

House rules are the standards by which a particular game is played. More specifically, house rules are mainly used in the context of specific tables or home games, upon which all players have to agree before they start betting.

For example, if you’ve ever watched a movie or TV show where the characters are playing a home poker game, and the dealer announces: “Regular Hold’em, Jacks wild” or something similar.

They are simply stating the key house rules players should know before the start of the game.
