Main Pot Meaning – The Pot That All Players in a Hand Compete For
In poker, main pot is the pot to which all players contribute, and all active players are eligible to win.
The term “main pot” is specifically highlighted when there’s also a presence of a side pot that features a showdown separate from the one in the main pot.
For example, let’s say that there are three players left in the last poker betting round, but one of them has gone all-in while the other two still hold healthy chip stacks.
The all-in player is in play for the main pot, but not the side pot for which the other two players are eligible if they decide to put in more money into the middle.
