Trips Meaning – A Poker Hand Containing Three Cards of the Same Rank
Trips is a poker slang name for a three-of-a-kind hand. More specifically, to hold trips in poker, you need to make a three-of-a-kind using two cards from the community board and one hole card.
If you make a three-of-a-kind using pocket pairs, it’s called a set and not trips.
For example, if you have an A, 2 hand and the flop produces an A, A, 9 board, you have trip aces.
